Phone Apps
There are many smartphone apps available for recording your archery scores. These are generally pre-loaded with all official rounds, and many allow you to set up custom (unofficial) rounds. Because the 252 badge scheme is so popular, some apps have these distances preset, while others require you to set them up manually. However as each club is able to have its own set of 252 rules you may find the preset 252 round may have slightly different distances or target face sizes defined.
Depending on the app, you will either input your scores as numbers or plot arrow positions directly onto a digital target face.
Important Note on Competitions: You can use an app to track your own progress during a tournament. However, the official tournament scoring must be prioritized (usually recorded on a physical paper scoresheet or an official club iPad) before you update your personal app.
Please note that while some apps track your Classification and Handicap, they can only do so accurately if the developer has licensed the official Archery GB tables.
Golden Records
The club utilizes a dedicated software system called Golden Records. This serves as the official, definitive archive for all CTRA member scores, Classifications, Handicaps, and club records.
All official Classification badges are awarded based strictly on the data held within Golden Records, not what is displayed on your personal phone app.
To ensure your progress is tracked and your badges are awarded, you can submit your scores to the database in one of three ways:
- Option 1: Paper Scoresheets – Hand the club Records Officer a signed paper scoresheet (or a clear photo/screenshot of it) to be entered manually.
- Option 2: App Screenshots – Send the Records Officer a screenshot of your phone app’s completed round summary screen.
- Option 3: Direct Online Entry (Recommended) – You can input your own scores directly into the Golden Records online database. To get started, contact the Club Secretary to request an account. You will receive an email invitation containing a link to set up your secure password. Once registered, you will be able to log in at any time to view your personal score history, personal bests, current Classification, Handicap, and live club records.
