Archery GB has a Progress Awards Scheme, this is for new and current archers looking to improve. Full details are available on their website but here is a quick summary:
The Awards are split into Indoor and Outdoor badges of 5 levels each (White, Black, Blue, Red and Gold).
There are different target scores for each level and also split for age and bowstyle.
Indoors are all shot on a 60cm (Portsmouth face) with 10 zone scoring (compounds need the inner 10).
Outdoors are shot on a 122cm face when shooting an Imperial distance with 5 zone scoring.
Outdoors are shot on an 80cm face when shooting a Metric distance with 10 zone scoring.
Each attempt consists of 6 sighters followed by 3 dozen (36) scoring arrows.
To claim the award for a level you must achieve the required score on 3 occasions. To claim, your score sheet must:
- Include the date & the level shot
- Be both verified and countersigned by another archer
- Handed to the club secretary or one of the coaches
