CTRA runs a 252 award scheme. This is an unofficial scheme that many clubs run but most often with their own local rules. It's named after the score required for Recurve archer to earn their badge and is based on 36 arrows shot on an Imperial distance and scoring scheme i.e. the targets are a set number of yards away and scoring is based on a 5-zone (9, 7, 5, 3, 1) system. Our local rules are detailed here.

The 252 award scheme is open to all club members.

Each attempt consists of 6 sighters followed by 3 dozen (36) scoring arrows.

The attempt may be shot alone or as the first 3 dozen of a longer round.

The distances are imperial and 5 zone scoring will be used (9/7/5/3/1.)

Beginner or Novice archers must shoot the distances in order.

Experienced archers may shoot the distances in any order.

You cannot claim an award without shooting the round / distance. To claim, your score sheet must:
